Your Gallup Fire Department would like to congratulate the following members on completing the IFSAC Technical Rescuer: Rope Rescue 1 course.
Fire Inspector Andrew Laweka
Firefighter Kenneth Smith
Firefighter David Charlie
Firefighter DJ Platero
This 40-hour course meets the first two of the three levels of training described in Chapter 5 of NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents; a mixture of classroom instruction and practical skills experiences look at basic rope use concepts, incident organization, and rigging of equipment used to affect a rescue.
