We've received several reports of callers claiming to be with the Sheriff's Office and asking people for personal information and money. They have been threatening to go to people's work, take them to jail, and demanding payment.
DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFO OR TRANSFER MONEY!
The Sheriff's Office does not collect money over the phone and we do not handle warrants over the phone. If you have a question contact our office or the courts.
These scammers collect your information online and from your social media accounts to make the call seem real, like they know you. We believe they are operating this scam from outside our jurisdiction or possibly outside the country and the numbers they call from are generated from a computer program and cannot be traced by our Office.
