This week has been Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Week. Even though this week focuses on the importance of CRR, your Gallup Fire Department is conducting Community Risk Reduction every day.
When we talk about CRR a lot of people ask what that means. Well, CRR is a data-driven process to identify and prioritize local risks, followed by the integrated and strategic investment of resources (emergency response and prevention) to reduce their occurrence and impact.
The goal with our CRR projects and programs is to help build a healthy, safe and resilient community and to reduce the occurrence and impact of emergency events for both members of the community and emergency responders.
Your Gallup Fire Department uses the 5 E’s of CRR every single day to provide for a safer and healthier community. This is just one more way that we are dedicated to protecting you, your family, and our community.
