This morning, your Gallup Fire Department was at Bethany Day Care teaching about fire safety. Members of Crew A were on site and we spent an amazing morning with the kids.
We went over how Firefighters are their friends and we showed them how a Firefighter puts on their protective clothing and what they look like, we taught about crawling low under smoke, and having a home fire escape plan. Of course Sparky wanted to meet them and for some it was their first time meeting Sparky the Fire Dog.
We finished off the morning with showing the kids the fire engine and rescue, and we had some time to sit down and color with the kids. They provided some great artwork for Sparky to hang up in his dog house.
We have many more schools to visit so be on the lookout for Sparky and friends!
