October 9th to the 15th is Fire Prevention Week, and this year is the 100th anniversary.
The campaign for this year is “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape.”
Today’s homes burn faster than ever before. You may have as little as 2 minutes to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. That is why it is so important for everyone to plan and practice a home fire escape.
Over the next several weeks we will be posting more about home fire escape plans.
If you would like additional information on how to plan or practice a home fire escape plan please call the Gallup Fire Department Fire Prevention Office at 505-726-5448.
