Late last night, Crew A of your Gallup Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire on the west side of town. Upon arrival crews found a small fire burning at the base of a tree near a business. The fire was 4 feet by 4 feet in size and quickly extinguished by crews utilizing a hoseline. We appreciate the caller who called 911 when they noticed this small fire. In the area it was located and being near a business it could have done a lot of damage.
