Late last night, Crew B of your Gallup Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a hotel on fire on E. HWY 66. Upon arrival crews found that the fire was located in one of the vacant hotels and found fire coming from one room. Multiple other rooms had heavy smoke exiting from them. Crews rapidly deployed handlines and achieved a quick knockdown. Due to heavy smoke conditions the crews conducted search and rescue in the other rooms to check for any one possible trapped inside. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Gallup Fire Department and the Gallup Police Department.
