Early this morning, Crew C of your Gallup Fire Department was dispatched to the area south of Munoz overpass on a report of a possible brush fire. Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from the area and when access was made they found a homeless camp on fire which included trash burning. Due to the recent rains the brush around the homeless camp was wet and the fire did not spread. The crews used hand tools and water fire extinguishers to fully extinguish the fire.
