CITY OF GRANTS: Washington & Jefferson Avenue Drainage Improvement Project Floodplain and Wetlands Early Public Review

City of Grants issued the following announcement on Aug. 22. 

The City of Grants, New Mexico is considering Phase II – Washington/Jefferson Avenues Drainage Improvement Project (consistent with Exhibit ‘1-A’ of Grant Agreement) as a CDBG project under the NM Small Cities Program for non-entitlement cities and counties. The project is located in the 100-year floodplain. The City of Grants is interested in discussing alternatives to this project, securing public perceptions of possible adverse impacts that could result from the project, and discussing possible measures to minimize any adverse impacts.

A virtual public hearing is scheduled on September 3, 2020 at 5:30 PM https://www.facebook.com/cityofgrants/ to discuss the proposed project.

Please extend or send written comments to: Brandon Howe, Planner, Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments, 106 West Aztec Avenue, Gallup, NM 87301. Comments will be received until September 7, 2020 – (16 days from date of publication).

A more detailed description of the project and FEMA flood maps are available for citizen review at the City Hall – 600 W. Santa Fe Avenue, Grants, NM 87020.
