Cost of college was unchanged for all students at New Mexico State University-Grants

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at New Mexico State University-Grants, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New Mexico residents paid $2,280 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-resident students would have paid 80 percent more than residents this year, or $4,104. Non-resident tuition and fees were unchanged from $4,104 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New Mexico residents. And about 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 38 students received grants or scholarships totaling $218,739 and 3 students took out student loans totaling more than $6,185.

Including all undergraduates (996), 411 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.7 million, and 161 students took out $502,680 in federal student loans.
