Navajo Technical University enrolls 1,595 undergrads

At Navajo Technical University, 56 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Crownpoint enrolled 1,600 students in fall 2018, including 1,595 in undergraduate and five in graduate programs, data shows. 6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

51 percent of undergraduates are residents of New Mexico, and 49 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as American Indian or Alaska Native (95 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (1 percent).
