REPUBLICAN PARTY OF NEW MEXICO: RPNM Joint Statement On The Passing Of Herman Cain

Announcement

Republican Party of New Mexico issued the following announcement on July 30.

Herman Cain, President Trump surrogate, former GOP presidential candidate and former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza died today from COVID-19.  The Republican Party of New Mexico offers its sincere condolences to Cain’s family and friends.

The following is a joint statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce and RPNM CD 1 Chair and Director of RPNM’s Minority Engagement Group Stephanie Kennedy:

“Herman Cain has made an indelible mark on America, not only in the black community but also in society as a whole. As co-chair of Black Voices for Trump, the group has grown nationally largely because of his work. Cain’s strong advocacy for President Trump has helped empower black conservatives to make a difference in their lives and to speak up for their values. The former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza became a champion of the business community and someone who, despite his humble beginnings, achieved great success, including leadership positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of Omaha and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas. While a businessman, Cain will also be remembered for challenging Bill Clinton over healthcare reform, charging that proposed changes were unfair to business owners and would force them to cut jobs. Cain will be sorely missed and will be remembered for his fortitude and efforts to helping keep America great.”
