City of Gallup issued the following announcement on July 7.
The City of Gallup is moving forward with the next phase of the alley improvement project in downtown Gallup. Bixby Electric is under contract to move the City’s electrical utilities underground. This project continues the efforts to upgrade city infrastructure to better serve the community.
Construction will begin in the alley between Second and Third Streets from the walkway to Second Street on July 8, 2020. After that portion is completed, the construction will move over into the block between First and Second Streets. The project plan includes leaving Second Street open to traffic, but the alley itself will be closed during the project’s duration.
