City of Gallup issued the following announcement on June 23.
The City of Gallup is excited to announce receiving a grant award of $30,300 from the State of New Mexico for the Clean and Beautiful program. This grant is used toward cleaning up litter in the community, encouraging recycling, and beautifying our city. The City is grateful to the State of New Mexico for funding our program for the fifth consecutive year.
The Keep Gallup Clean and Beautiful program services to improve the cleanliness and beauty of our community. This grant allows local nonprofit organizations to partner with the City to grow recycling education, empower youth through employment, beautify Gallup, and obtain needed supplies for community-wide litter reduction and cleanups.
We want to grow pride in our city and work together to Keep Gallup Clean and Beautiful.
At this time - we promote individual cleanups or joining members of your household only to promote the health of our community in response to COVID-19. For information on how to request clean-up supplies for your own socially distanced cleanup activities, please contact the Keep Gallup Clean and Beautiful Program Manager, Elizabeth Barriga, at (505) 863-1393.
Follow the Keep Gallup Clean and Beautiful program on Facebook at @kgcb505 for updates on community cleanups, recycling initiatives, and ways you can become involved. We appreciate all the ongoing, daily hard work being done to clean up Gallup. We can do more by encouraging friends, neighbors, and our community members to Keep Gallup Clean & Beautiful.
