City of Gallup NM issued the following announcement on May 14.
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham held a press conference on May 13th that announced changes to the Public Health Order. The newly amended public health order includes many changes that do not apply to McKinley, Cibola, or San Juan counties where the risk of spread of COVID-19 remains too high.
The Governor indicated that effective May 16th McKinley County will enter the ‘Preparation Phase’ of her plan. This includes:
- Non-Essential retailers may provide curbside pickup or delivery where permitted by their license
- Golf Courses may open
- Pet and veterinary services may open
- Firearms shops can operate (by appointment only)
The stay at home order remains in place but when you must go out wear a mask or other face covering to help reduce the spread of the virus so our community can move forward to the next phase of reopening.
