Lack of hand sanitizer prompts New Mexico Tech into action

Tech

The COVID-19 crisis has caused hand sanitizer to run out of stock, prompting New Mexico Tech staff members to tap into their creative side.

Workers in the school’s Biology Department are making hand sanitizer in addition to protective face shields for front line workers. They also placed sanitizer refill stations all over campus in an effort to help combat the novel coronavirus.

Dr. Danielle Turner “feels good” about her department’s efforts.

“We really do want to protect people and we care about everyone around us,” Turner recently told KRQE.

Once essential employees are given their supply, the workers plan to begin distributing the sanitizer to the community.
