Cibola County issued the following announcement on Mar. 24.
Due to the current situation with coronavirus (COVID-19), the Assessor’s official 2020 Notice of Values will not be mailed to all Cibola County property owners on April 1, 2020 as originally planned.
The notices (NOV’s) are the official notification to property owners of their property value assessment used in the calculation of property taxes which are due in November of each year.
I have been granted an official extension by the New Mexico Property Tax Director that provides more time to mail the official notices on a later date.
At this time, I am hopeful that we will mail the notices between April 15 and May 1, 2020. I will keep the public posted of the exact mailing date so that you do not miss your opportunity to apply for exemptions or file a petition of protest for your property value.
